Practical Care Chemotherapy Gift Hampers
Practical Care was established in May 2014 after founders, Sharon Schreurs and Heidi Green decided to put what they thought was a good idea into action. Their aim was to create a Chemotherapy Gift Pack with a purely practical focus. Everything in the kits it’s aimed at improving chemotherapy side effects.
Sharon, has been an oncology nurse for 16 years and would often write a list of practical items for patients, their carers or friends to purchase when starting chemotherapy treatment. Through chatting to patients and other healthcare professionals this list started to become extensive. And although helpful, these items were not always readily available and may require some running around.
Heidi, has experienced being the person running around, trying to locate remedies for chemotherapy side effects after caring for her mother-in-law. She has subsequently devoted a great deal of time and energy to fund raising for the Cancer Council. Therefore, donating back to cancer charity and working ethically is an integral part of Practical Care’s philosophy.
$10 from every Deluxe Chemotherapy Gift Hampers and $5 from every Standard Chemotherapy Gift Pack will be donated to a cancer charity of the month.
This months recipients are:
St John of God Hospital, Berwick. Day Oncology.
This wonderful chemotherapy unit is trying to raise funds for it’s own wig library, meaning their patients will no longer have to travel long distances to access wigs.
